To those who have devoted their lives to dance, sometimes called dancesport, dance matters greatly. These are the people to whom the future, the needs and wishes of the dancer matter.
It is also an unfortunate fact that certain matters have divided the dance world, there are those prepared to work simply for their own power and ignoring the needs and wishes of the dancers - the people who should matter most.
This website is dedicated to all those to whom dance matters, to whom freedom matters.

Have the World Dance Sport Federation, their President Carlos Freitag, and the International Olympic Committee learned nothing from history? Through the centuries people have been prepared to fight for and even die to preserve Freedom for the benefit of Society. Freedom is never going to be sacrificed on the Altar of Dictatorship. This is the time when the International Olympic Committee, and the World DanceSport Federation need to open their eyes and learn. The WDSF attempt to build a Dancesport Berlin Wall is failing and the wall will crumble. A good place to start would be The Olympic Charter and the UN Human Rights Declaration. Time to observe the wisdom contained there. The Olympic Charter : Fundamental Principles of Olympism 1. Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of

The Polish Amateur Latin Champions have issued a statement that they are joining the WDC AL. They deserve complete respect for their courage and integrity, their respect for themselves and for Freedom. Communist type controls belong in the past and have no place in a modern free world.. The translation I have reads: Marek Fiksa & Kinga Jurecka-Fiksa In view of the current situation that exists in the world of ballroom dancing, we decided to publicly justify our decision to change the federation. After almost twenty years to participate in all kinds of dance festivals and competitions around the world the time has come where we have been deprived of their freedom of choice. From the very beginning of the dance we had such opportunities and happiness, to compete with the best pairs on both the World and European Championships, I and other no less

The WDSF have decided they will not recognise the 2012 UK Open and International Championships. The usual phoney nonsense is offered as a reason. The first International Championship took place in 1953 before there was even a WDSF (or any of its predecessors) now this Presidium of non dancers or not very good dancers (failed competitors) decide "they" will not "recognise" 2 World Famous and well loved events open to ALL dancers no matter to which world body they belong. The WDSF make fools of themselves with their jackboots stamping on dancesport and dancers wishes. With their every act they drive more people away from the WDSF. SHAME on the International Olympic Committee who have no real interest in DanceSport and complacently sit back and allow these acts against even their own Olympic Charter, never mind International Law. Does the IOC not believe in observing Law?.
www.wdcdance.com/?set_ActivMenu=135&set_NewsId=126 Great news for New Zealand Amateurs and guaranteeing those registered with them that they will be able to enjoy Freedom of Choice and Freedom to Dance and that some of the most major events (including the English Big 3) will always remain open to them.

The “New Zealand Open Dancesport Championships - Adult Amateur, Senior and Professional “ have been promoted and organised by NZFDT (New Zealand Federation of Dance Teachers and a member of the NZD & DC) for 61 years. During this time it has grown to be one of the premiere and most respected events in New Zealand. This year the event will take place in Auckland on 30th and 31st July dancers from all over the world are invited to be a part of this long standing and prestigious championship. Entries can be made through Mr. Kingsley Gainsford and should be made by 1st July, e mail: firstname.lastname@example.org It is vital for the progress, the development of our sport that all involved in competitive dance support great events receive maximum support. It is therefore disapointing that for purely political reasons (and without consideration for the harm done to dancesport) some o

It is reported that the World Dance Councul have suspended their member for Australia, DanceSport Australia, for acting in a manner which did not best serve the interests of the WDC. If true it is so deserved as DSA have behaved in a treacherous manner. The saying goes "As you sew so shall you reap" and DSA are getting what they deserve Wonder if Mr Wilson President of DS still wants to claim this blog lacks credibility? www.dance-matters.com/blog/2011/05/new-questions-for-mr-craig-wilson-president-dancesport-australia/ www.dance-matters.com/blog/2011/05/what-ga

The Sports Director of the IDSF Member for Malaysia has a Blog. Anyone who operates a Blog has a duty to ensure that their information is accurate and honest. The blog begins Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF) The MYDF Sports Director's Views. You are always entitled to disagree with my views, provided always there are no profanities and vulgarities in your comments. As MYDF is part of the International Dancesport Federation (IDSF) representing Malaysia, obviously the views presented are in line with IDSF way of looking at Dancesport.I make no apologies about that. MYDF is a Sports Body for both Amateur and Professional, and like any Sports Body we have rules to follow. That is reality!
