To those who have devoted their lives to dance, sometimes called dancesport, dance matters greatly. These are the people to whom the future, the needs and wishes of the dancer matter.
It is also an unfortunate fact that certain matters have divided the dance world, there are those prepared to work simply for their own power and ignoring the needs and wishes of the dancers - the people who should matter most.
This website is dedicated to all those to whom dance matters, to whom freedom matters.

Let us make it very clear that WDSF and their National bodies are making very untruthful claims. The International Olympic Committee cannot make the WDSF the governing body for dancesport and with control over all competitions. The IOC have admitted in correspondence they have no legal standing, no authority, no power to make such a decision. Recognition by the IOC is limited to the Olympic movement and peripheral events like the World Games (where not the best but hand picked dancers get to compete) At the WDC AGM in 2010 the members voted in favour of an approach being made to IDSF to try and resolve the problems. At the IDSF AGM 2010 the members voted against talks - they did not want peace they wanted power. The dancers and their rights and wishes have never been important to those in WDSF who love power. UNESCO - CID the umbrella organisation for all forms of dance in the world where so concerned they a

There have been a number of stories that the WDFS member for Poland banned their members from dancing the recent International Championship, but this was ignored by many of their top dancers. One of their top Latin couples went on to dance at the London Ball. Of course WDSF have now foolishly seen fit to ban the UK Open 2012 and 2012 InternationalChampionships, as can be read here in another topic. Interesting that on a Polish website this video has been posted : http://filmixxy.pl/9227/WDSF-vs-WDC-True-facts- Enjoy! Nothing could demonstrate more clearly that WDSF have lost the respect of many and become figures of fun to be mocked The IOC must accept a share of the blame. They do not care about DanceSport and Dancers, they do not enforce their own Olympic Charter. The 2 cannot even agree a commmon story. WDSF say "We hav

Once again we have a Press Release from Mr Freitag, WDSF President, which contains many highly questionable words. http://www.worlddancesport.org/doc/press/2011/2011.pdf WDSF And Competitions In England 25/10/2011 In the last twelve months, I have written to you on a number of occasions to provide you with current, accurate information about WDSF and England. In recent times, we were optimistic because some of the distinguished people who had been active in dancing in England for years as coaches, adjudicators and producers had indicated to us a willingness to consider participating in the WDSF sporting system and build DanceSport in England within WDSF and the Olympic family. We responded by saying in good faith that the WDSF Presidium would not take action against athletes, adjudicators and other officials who in

Following the recent elections Mr Wilson failed in his bid to retain the DSA Presidency. The new President is Mr. Don McRobert. It is hoped that this will herald a new chapter for dancers and dancesport in Australia. We wish him luck in his endeavours.

In recent years it has become common for WDSF and those connected to WDSF to issue Press Releases which can best be described as "unwise". Craig Wilson President of DSA has issued such a document on 4th September. Was this expressing the view of DSA or the personal view of Mr Wilson? http://www.dancesport.org.au/images/stories/DanceSport_Australia_Press_Release_World_Latin

On the 1st September This annoucement was made By Roland Hilfiker on the WDSF website in their "Live from Singapore" Blog. 91 And Counting!wo more entries could well bring participation in the 2011 WDSF World DanceSport Championships to new record levels, both in terms of number of couples as well as nations. Australia and Vietnam have entered one couple each since yesterday's list went up on this blog. That would bring a total of 91 couples representing 51 countries to the floor of the Grand Ballroom at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore on 10 September. Let's all hope there are no no-shows when the first round is called. AUSTRALIA : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (names deleted by Admin) We were able to find some online information about the couple from dowunder. Aussie champions in Latin and Standard, Tania Trigili and Brad Montagnese have been dancin

Valentine Chmerkovskiy ends competitive career. This is quite sad news and Valentine expresses his reasons as follows : I have decided to end my competitive dance career. It truly has been an amazing journey for me. I have been so very blessed with the incredible partners that I had the pleasure of growing and competing with. To them I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Endless gratitude to the coaches that have given me so much, I am forever in debt. The knowledge that was shared with me, throughout the years, is worth more than any trophy I have ever won. The experience I gained from the countless hours of practice and performances, the character I built from the disappointments and failure, alongside with the love I gained for movement, music, and self-expression is something that has shap

Many people have questioned the Public Letters of Support for Ferrucio Galvagno and that he remains on the World DancesportFederation (WDSF) Presidium even when expelled for life from the Italian WDSF member. Now a special news paper has been produced which sets out very many salient features that bring into question the integrity of the WDSF. Recently we have seen WDSF publicise Letters from Rogge of the IOC and the Asian Olympic Council and now the question must be asked do the IOC condone such acts? If not what action are they taking? It is quite disgraceful how Freitag again supports Galvano and Tondon and evades his responsibilities and says WDSF are not getting involved. http://www.worlddancesport.org/doc/press/2011/Letter%20to%20all%20WDSF%20Members%20regarding%20FIDS%20situation%20110802.pdf http://www.informadanza.it/DSI_Special_edition.pd Is this the world in which the Banner

Below is an extract from a letter received in London from a member of Dancesport Australia. In case you have not heard the WDSF via Shawn Tay has refused to accept the entry of Arkady Bakenov & Rosa Filipello and Jeremy Basile & Megan Wragg as the Australian Reps in their Worlds Latin event in Singaporebe cause they received a complaint from Denmark (we think) regarding these two couples dancing in Richard Gleave’s “Freedom to Dance “ event in London. S.T. has asked DSA to nominate two more couples which they are refusing to do It would be useless any way as couples ranked 3 & 4 and 5 & 6 alsodanced in the Freedom to Dance event. As you can imagine this is causing a fair amount of consternation here in Australia, especially for President Craig Wilson and those like him who totally support the WDSF. The newly formed Australian DanceSport Competitors Assoc., led by Matthew Rooke have entered the fray
