To those who have devoted their lives to dance, sometimes called dancesport, dance matters greatly. These are the people to whom the future, the needs and wishes of the dancer matter.

It is also an unfortunate fact that certain matters have divided the dance world, there are those prepared to work simply for their own power and ignoring the needs and wishes of the dancers - the people who should matter most.

This website is dedicated to all those to whom dance matters, to whom freedom matters.

Polish Amateur Latin Champions quit WDSF join WDC AL

The Polish Amateur Latin Champions have issued a statement that they are joining the WDC AL.  They deserve complete  respect for their courage and integrity, their respect for themselves and for Freedom.  Communist type controls belong in the past and have no place in a modern free world..   The translation I have reads: Marek Fiksa & Kinga Jurecka-Fiksa In view of the current situation that exists in the world of ballroom dancing, we decided to publicly justify our decision to change the federation. After almost twenty years to participate in all kinds of dance festivals and competitions around the world the time has come where we have been deprived of their freedom of choice. From the very beginning of the dance we had such opportunities and happiness, to compete with the best pairs on both the World and European Championships, I and other no less

World DanceSport Federation - Video topic

There have been a number of stories that the WDFS member for Poland banned their members from dancing the recent International Championship, but this was ignored by many of their top dancers. One of their top Latin couples went on to dance at the London Ball. Of course WDSF have now foolishly seen fit to ban the UK Open 2012 and 2012  InternationalChampionships, as can be read here in another topic.   Interesting that on a Polish website this video has been posted : http://filmixxy.pl/9227/WDSF-vs-WDC-True-facts- Enjoy!   Nothing could demonstrate more clearly that WDSF have lost the respect of many and become figures of fun to be mocked   The IOC must accept a share of the blame.  They do not care about DanceSport and Dancers, they do not enforce their own Olympic Charter.  The  2 cannot even agree a commmon story. WDSF say "We hav

Carlos Freitag, WDSF & Competitions in England.

Once again we have a Press Release from Mr Freitag, WDSF President, which contains many highly questionable words.   http://www.worlddancesport.org/doc/press/2011/2011.pdf WDSF And Competitions In England 25/10/2011 In the last twelve months, I have written to you on a number of occasions to provide you with current, accurate information about WDSF and England. In recent times, we were optimistic because some of the distinguished people who had been active in dancing in England for years as coaches, adjudicators and producers had indicated to us a willingness to consider participating in the WDSF sporting system and build DanceSport in England within WDSF and the Olympic family. We responded by saying in good faith that the WDSF Presidium would not take action against athletes, adjudicators and other officials who in

WDSF bring shame to Sport

The WDSF have decided they will not recognise the 2012 UK Open and International Championships.  The usual phoney nonsense is offered as a reason. The first International Championship took place in 1953 before there was even a WDSF (or any of its predecessors) now this Presidium of non dancers or not very good dancers (failed competitors) decide "they" will not "recognise" 2 World Famous and well loved events open to ALL dancers no matter to which world body they belong.  The WDSF  make fools of themselves with their jackboots stamping on dancesport and dancers wishes.   With their every act they drive more people away from the WDSF.  SHAME on the International Olympic Committee who have no real interest in DanceSport  and complacently sit back and allow these acts against even their own Olympic Charter, never mind International Law.  Does the IOC not believe in observing Law?.

Craig Wilson no longer DSA President

Following the recent elections Mr Wilson failed in his bid to retain the DSA Presidency.   The new President is Mr. Don McRobert.  It is hoped that this will herald a new chapter for dancers and dancesport in Australia.   We wish him luck in his endeavours.
