To those who have devoted their lives to dance, sometimes called dancesport, dance matters greatly. These are the people to whom the future, the needs and wishes of the dancer matter.

It is also an unfortunate fact that certain matters have divided the dance world, there are those prepared to work simply for their own power and ignoring the needs and wishes of the dancers - the people who should matter most.

This website is dedicated to all those to whom dance matters, to whom freedom matters.

Alberto Pregnalato corrects misinformation of IDSF President

Many will remember the IDSF Press Release where the IDSF President attempted to praise Mt Ferrucio Galvagno and heap abuse on and make claims against, among others, the WDC and the FIDS member Mt Alberto Pregnalato.. For a time this Press Release filled with misinformation, was removed. Regrettably it has now reappeared. http://www.worlddancesport.org/doc/press/2011/Letter%20to%20IDSF%20Members%20about%20FIDS%20110321.pdf A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) Mr Pregnalato has now responded and it is interesting to read the real truth, and makes you ask WHY does the President of an IOC IF spread misinformation? The original letter from Mr Pregnalato (in Italian) can be read at www.infodanza.com. This is a google language translation. "This campaign

New Zealand Dancesport Association ignores IOC and IDSF Rules

New Zealand Dancesport Association in a recent Press Release included the following sentence.   Clearly, we are not in a position to ensure the highest standards are applied to national championships run under the rules and authority of the New Zealand Dance & DanceSport Council and have therefore developed our own national championships.     Very interesting. NZDA do not believe IOC have the highest standards? It seems so!  NZDA ignore the Olympic Charter and they ignore the IOC Rule that a coach may not judge their own students.     Even more interesting ! NZDA do not believe IDSF have the highest standards which is why they ignore IDSF Rule 13.2.3 by selecting a couple to dance for New Zealand in the IDSF Professional Division World Latin Championship on 21st May 2011 when the same couple dance for It

FIDS/IDSF JUDGING SCANDAL

As many dancers are aware there is a massive scandal in the IDSF dance world in Italy, and a huge amount of evdidence has been provided which it is said substantiates allegations of corruption. After months when the crimininal charges were investigated hearings are now underway. There is a blow by blow account of the hearing taking place on the Italian website infodanza. http://infodanza.com/2011/05/26/resoconto-e-registrazioni-3a-udienza/ If you do not have an Italian friend to help you with the translation then perhaps google language rools will give a good idea. http://www.dance-matters.com/blog/2011/04/more-trouble-for-fids-in-italian-judging-scandal/ http://www.dance-matters.com/blog/20

Misconceptions in New Zealand

It is to be hoped that competitive dancers in New Zealand are not misled by the outdated ideology and dogma of New Zealand Dancesport Association and IDSF member.  Wanting a world of exclusion and isolation is not constructive not can it aid to the growth and development of Sport. This is the policy of the dark ages. Progress lies with the discipline of Competitive Dance the true Artistic Sport,  recognised by WADA, the Russian Olympic Committee and many others.  This is the future. Let us open the doors and windows and welcome evey one in. Include and unite, Friendship, Freedom, Good Sportsmanship, Fair Play, the observance of Laws, the Olympic Charter, the UN Declaration on Human Rights.  That is the way we will make a better dance world. It becomes ever clearer that the "Politicians" in Dancesport Australia, New Zealand Dancesport Association are concerned about themselves, their power and they will happil

New Zealand Dancesport Association (IDSF Member) devalues National titles

This Press Release that is produced below is so typical of the misinformation circulated by those associated with IDSF. You have to question why Organisations, and persons connected with them. so willingly destroy their credibility. Do they really believe you you can fool ALL the people ALL the time?  If they do stick to this premise they head for disillusionment and ridicule. My first question -  why are they calling themselves DanceSport New Zealand? Please see www.dancesportnz.com/. The body registered and showing as New Zealand IDSF member on the IDSF website is : Abbreviation NZDA Name New Zealand Dancesport Association Country New Zealand Continent Oceania

IDSF call them "Athletes". They call themselves "Dancers"

Annette and Simone - never change a winning Team ! How did you get in contact with Dancesport ? Simone was challenged by his uncle as a child who woke his interest in dancing by saying he could never be better than him. Annette played very successful tennis but unfortunately or maybe fortunately her spine got a deformation so a doctor advised her to visit some dance class in order to correct her posture. What is the fascination that you are still involved in Dancesport ? The challenge of improvement , the enjoyment of dancing together to wonderful music.  What is your aim in Dancesport ? To get the most out of our potential and to be able to show it while we still compete, to leave an image of ourselves in the dance world and to become successful teachers.  Is there something in Dancesport nowadays what you are worried about ? Many are worried abou

New Questions for Mr Craig Wilson, President Dancesport Australia.

Within this blog the following topic was posted http://www.dance-matters.com/blog/2011/05/what-game-are-dancesport-australia-playing-why-interfere-in-new-zealand/   This drew a response from a Craig Wilson   no guarantee but it seems the Craig Wilson making the Comment wishes to be identified as the President of DanceSport Australia. Very interesting why, if the "Respectful" Mr Wilson is the President of DSA He is incapable or unwilling to respond to any issue!!     Instead he makes a number of false claims (the normal behaviour for those supporting IDSF so perhaps he is the real article). Unable to respond he chooses to attack the integr

PROTEST MEETING AGAINST DANCESPORT IRELAND, the IDSF member.

Mr Tommy Shaugnessy one time Sports Directo for the failed International Professional DanceSport Council has placed in the public domain a statement relating to a Protest meeting, A Day of Solidarity, against the Irish IDSF member Dance Sport Ireland.  This will take place on Sunday 15th May.   To  whom it may concern I would like to express some  thoughts and beliefs on the current situation affecting us in   our dance community.  The protest organised for Sunday  15th, outside the Grand Hotel in Malahide, is not designed to  undermine any social dancer or social dancer’s competition.   So, please social dancers do not see this as an attack on you, your right to compete or your right to enjoy your dancing.   This protest is against recent actions of DanceSport Irelan

AUGUSTO SCHIAVO Press Release 10th May, 2011

I read the Press Release from Mr Schiavo with sadness, disappointmen and disillusionment. When people try to justify being part of the PROBLEM rather than part of the SOLUTION to the ugliness faced in the entire dance world you feel sadness No doubt IDSF will make sure Mr Schiavo gets more work now, they might even allow him to attend IDSFAdjudicators Congresses!!. Italy is no different to many countries in the world who have dancers with talent and ability. However for Italy, please do not give the credit to FIDS.  So long as FIDS are "locked in" to the IDSF system, many great dancers will never achieve their full potential. In the closing paragraph Mr Schiavo claims that he is not  good "politically " and then parades noble sentiments in the IDSF manner we have come to expect. Just do not study the reali

IDSF Press Releases removed from their website !!

Any explanation as to why IDSF have removed all Press Releases from their website ?   http://www.worlddancesport.org/Media/Press/Release   Surely you issue Press Releases to make Open and Public statements. Why suddenly get all coy and hide everything you have had to say?
