To those who have devoted their lives to dance, sometimes called dancesport, dance matters greatly. These are the people to whom the future, the needs and wishes of the dancer matter.
It is also an unfortunate fact that certain matters have divided the dance world, there are those prepared to work simply for their own power and ignoring the needs and wishes of the dancers - the people who should matter most.
This website is dedicated to all those to whom dance matters, to whom freedom matters.

As we now know the Intenational Dance Oraganisation vted unanimously at their recent AGM to leave the IDSF.
This was a major blow to Vision 2012.
No matter how much the WDSF may attempt to pretend otherwise. I have visited their website frequently seeking mention of this blow, but WDSF keep it under wraps. Losing 250,000 dancers is a huge embarrassment. .
On the IDO website there is an extremely interesting link regarding discussions between IDO and IDSF
http://www.ido-dance.com/ceis_data/2/news/Report-meeting-IDSF-IDO-in-Zurich-for-Membership-in-WDSF.pdf
Reading this I was somewhat amused at the IDSF claims and hype.
Read Paragraph 3. Have we not heard all this before regarding sponsors, Games, etc? One wonders how the Rock & Roll Federation feel at their sudden exclusion from the next World Games so Salsa can replace them!! What did they do wrong to warrant this exclusion? The very strong impression is that the WDSF are simply using the others organisations to boost their numbers and thus disguise their losses in the world of Ballroom & Latin American dancing.
Paragraph 4 is interesting. Once again the IDSF were blaming the IOC. However in writing the IOC have stated that their International Federations are independent and autonomous, that the IOC gave no power to interfere, suggest, meddle, influence. So who misleads who? The IOC or the WDSFsomeone is not telling the truth.
We read how IOC want all the "dance" organisations in a single World Federation. Why?
Why do they discriminate against dance? Tennis there is the Womens Tennis Association and the Association of Tennis Professionals. There was no need for one World Federation and tennis becme a medal sport. . Skating there was no demand for one World Federation. Speed Skating, Figure Skating, Ice Hockey all have their own organisations and all became medal sports. Wrestling? how many types of wrestling organisations are there? Actually studying some recent IDSF atheletes performances perhaps the IOC should be demanding the WDSF become part of a Wrestling Federation.

The IOC are not interested to in dancesport at all and it will never be included as a medal sport. Time the WDSF told the truth.
